DEAD END STREET
Feature Film – 90-minutes – Development
Brixton 1987. Jordan Brooks, a young DJ, fights to overcome his social anxiety disorder in London's turbulent pirate radio scene – an environment teeming with male bravado and the constant threat of police interference.
With research aid and historical consultancy from DJ Fingers, DJ Supreme, Simon Harris and many other prominent individuals from the UK Hip-Hop and pirate radio scene, Dead End Street sheds light on a sparsely publicised part of Britain’s music history. The film intends to contribute to the ongoing conversation about men’s mental health and exposes the historically disproportionate powers used against black people by the police.
Dead End Street is currently in development and the images here represent our vision for the piece.
